Chris “Boom!” Wiser and Rob “Dr. Rock” Martin joined forces in 2001 and quickly gained a following with a high-energy live show that has been described as a hip-shaking, head-bopping, southern-based explosion of fun for all ages. Sugar Free Allstars are among the ‘Top 12 Family Music Artists in America’ according to Time magazine. Felix Hernandez Rhythm Revue / screening: “Get On Up”

In 1983, Felix Hernandez began a two-year project traveling the U.S. collecting hundreds of hours of interviews with R&B artists. The material was used for a 13-part radio documentary called Harlem Hit Parade, which was syndicated to 70 NPR stations in the mid-80’s. In 1986, Felix introduced Rhythm Revue, New York’s first radio show devoted exclusively to classic soul and R&B. It premiered on WBGO and is now in its 29th year. …

Tito Nieves

With more than three decades of musical history behind him, Humberto “Tito” Nieves – the “Pavarotti” of Salsa – is still going strong. In 2011, the Puerto Rican-born, NYC-raised star launched his very own record label, Tito Nieves Music Corp. with the release of his 30th studio album, Mi ultima grabacion. Lead single, “Eres Linda” roared onto the Latin Billboard Tropical Airplay chart in its first week and became his 26th chart entry. Nieves began his career with Orquesta Cimarron before joining the Hector Lavoe Orchestra, and later, Conjunto Clasico, where he shared the stage with Celia Cruz and Tito Puente. In 1988, Nieves set out as a solo artist and was signed to the legendary RMM Records. His first album with the label, Classic, which included the hit “Sonambulo,” earned him his first of many Gold Records. …
