Where: Flushing Meadows Park, Queens
When: Sunday, August 12, 2012
New for 2012! This exciting parent-child race incorporates basic exercises and sports skills, and provides a healthy, one-hour dose of fun for all! Open to participants of all CPF sports programs and their parents.
The race takes place in one of New York’s most well-known parks on a course featuring 12 activity stations (click here for a map of the course). Team members must properly perform the required exercise or task before advancing to the next station and final run to the finish line. Activities include:
• Javelin throw
• Jump rope
• Basketball free throw
• Hurdles
• Bench push-ups
Awards will be provided to top three finishers in each age group wave. All finishers receive t-shirts and certificates of completion. There will be 2 races, based on age:
Ages 8-10: Race start time: 8:30 AM
Ages 11-13: Race start time 10:00 AM
• A $10 entry fee per team is required to register. Team must include 1 parent or guardian and up to 2 children (must be in the same age category).
• Registration for this event is limited on a “first-come basis”. Click below to purchase tickets.
