City Parks Foundation offers free, fun-filled fitness programs designed to help keep young kids active, educate and develop positive, life-long attitudes toward healthy exercise and nutrition.

Saturday, August 9
Inwood Park, Indian Rd. and West 215th St., Manhattan 

This exciting parent-child race incorporates basic exercises and sports skills, and provides a healthy, one-hour dose of fun for all! Open to children ages 8-13 and their parents.

Races take place on a course featuring 12 activity stations where team members must properly perform the required exercise or task before advancing to the next station and final run to the finish line. Activities include:

• Javelin throw
• Jump rope
• Basketball free throw
• Hurdles
• Mini Climbing Wall

Awards will be provided to top three finishers in each age group wave (8-10 & 11-13 year olds). All finishers receive t-shirts and certificates of completion.

• Teams are required to register. Team must include 1 parent or guardian and up to 2 children (must be in the same age category).

• Registration for this event is limited on a “first-come basis”.
