Meet the Outreach Coordinators
06.04.12 | 1pm | No Comments | Partnerships for Parks

Outreach Coordinators are at the heart of what Partnerships for Parks does, supporting New Yorkers who want to work together to make their neighborhood parks thrive.

They’re also the on-the-ground staff, based in each borough, who support the parks in an assigned group of Community Districts and are most people’s first point of contact for getting involved in park advocacy, stewardship, and programming.

Some of the ways OCs typically support individuals and groups include:

      • Connecting them to park volunteers and groups already established in a neighborhood
      • Helping them start a Friends group
      • Lending them tools and supplies for park clean-up events
      • Showing them how to secure permits for park-based events and activities
      • Introducing them to local Park Supervisors, Manager, and Administrators to ensure a positive working relationship
      • Connecting them to PfP’s Technical Assistance Program for additional resources, such as training, funding, and

publication opportunities to strengthen their capacity.
