TRAILERS:
The 2009 season marked several exciting new additions to CityParks Theater presented by Time Warner including City Parks Foundation’s first ever commissioned play, Dirt Rich by Chisa Hutchinson. The festival featured Tisch School of the Arts, NYU Continuum Company's Theater in a Box: Essential Shakespeare I Dream A Little Dream, and also welcomed acclaimed poet, jessica Care moore, as she fused music and spoken word in her celebrated one-woman show, God is Not an American. The festival also welcomed the National Theater of the USA's Chautauqua!, which explores the hotly debated relationship between High Culture and the Mass Mind, in the style of the original Chautauqua Lectures, which were popular between 1874 and the Great Depression. Three-time New York Innovative Theater Award winning production, Dancing vs. The Rat Experiment, will round out the festival with a genre-defying piece performed by the company Witness Relocation.
