FILMS

SummerStage Anywhere Films:

Films for this evening are produced and provided by JACOB JONAS THE COMPANY and FILMS.DANCE:

Pássaro Distante

Gabriela Mo, Brazil

Saudade! It doesn’t matter how far we go; the more we grow, the more we strengthen the connection with our essences and our hearts. Luís Fernando, Jovani Furlan, Luanna Gondim and Maitê Nunes dance together as a shadow of one another, in an alien place that represents their introspectiveness. Pássaro Distante can be interpreted as how far we can go into our internal universe – as a distant bird.

Kaduna

Ridwan Adeniyi, Jacob Jonas, Nigeria

A movement born out of migration and distance—out of likeness and difference. In this mutually birthed language we seek to obliterate the illusion that we are separate from each other and the environment that holds us together. We are no bigger or smaller. We are a brotherhood. A kinship.

正念- Now

Robin Mahieux, China

A woman deeply sleeps inside the limbs of her past, amongst the rubble of a previous life. She awakens to the fullness of the present moment, stepping into now, forsaking the past, and mindfully moving into the future.

Sit Still

Vincent René-Lortie, Canada

Alone in a vacant school, we follow seven-year-old Adeline on an intimate and exhaustive journey of self-expression as she navigates her emotions through Krump.
