Since forming in 2007, this seven-piece New Orleans-roots driven rock band has logged countless miles on the road, cultivating a high octane live show and a studio presence equally steeped in instrumental virtuosity and charismatic vocal magnetism. Following two independent releases, 2010’s Vital Signs and 2014’s City of Sound, that time and dedication came to a head on the group’s third full length album, Men Amongst Mountains (2015). This record debuted at #2 on the Billboard Alternative Albums Chart and Top 10 on the iTunes Alternative Albums Chart while quickly racking up nearly 2 million plays on Spotify, all through word of mouth. Rolling Stone, NPR, Nylon, and countless others sang their praises as they launched a headline tour that sold out dates across the country. With show-stopping pedal steel fireworks, fretboard-derived bluesy licks, and just the right touch of bombastic horns, the record consistently surprises. The lead single “Keep Going” shot into the Top 25 on the Triple A Chart, driven by a swinging refrain propelled by shining keys, funked out guitar, and booming horns. Other standouts include “Wish I Knew You,” “Monster” and “All In The Family.”
White Denim is a four-piece indie rock band from Austin, Texas. Their music is influenced by dub, psychedelic, blues, punk, progressive, soul, jazz and experimental rock with home-based recording, jamming, intense looping and unusual song structures. Formed in 2006, the group initially began playing the local Austin circuit while recording punk-infused, psychedelic blues-rock. In 2007, the band self-released its first EP entitled Let’s Talk About It on 7″. While on the subsequent tour in 2007, the band recorded a nine-song “tour EP” entitled Workout Holiday, which was only sold at shows. After signing with a label, they re-recorded this album and toured extensively, playing shows including SXSW and CMJ Music Marathon, and also received the award of “Best New Band” at the 2008 Austin Music Awards. They then released their debut U.S. full-length LP, entitled Explosion in 2008, followed by Fits in 2009. In 2010 the band self-released a collection of twelve tracks entitled Last Day of Summer, followed by their fourth studio record, 2011’s D. In between extensive touring, with standout performances at Bonnaroo and the Outside Lands festival, White Denim released Corsicana Lemonade in 2013, and Stiff in 2016, as they continue to jam on by.
