On Tuesday, September 1, City Parks Foundation (CPF) hosted the 18th annual CityParks Tennis Benefit at the US Open Championships. The benefit raised significant funds for CityParks Tennis, which serves over 6,000 children in 38 parks throughout New York City each season.

On September 2, Partnerships for Parks gathered 23 representatives from 16 companies as a thank you for their inspiring generosity over the last year. In just 9 months, corporate volunteers have collectively contributed almost 9000 hours of time towards city parks in all five boroughs.

For over 26 years, groups and volunteers all over the world have shown their appreciation for our oceans and coastlines through International Coastal Clean Up Day. On September 19, Partnerships for Parks will host cleanup's at sites including, Kaiser Park, Coney Island (Brooklyn) and Lemon Creek Park, Prince’s Bay (Staten Island).

On a warm, overcast morning last October at Bowne Playground in Flushing, Queens, Martha Lopez-Gilpin stepped to the podium. As a founding member and co-chair of the Astoria Park Alliance (APA), she was selected to speak at the Mayor's Community Parks Initiative announcement - a $130 million boost to underserved parks citywide - as a representative from emerging community advocacy organizations across the city dedicated to park stewardship.

City Parks Foundation (CPF) presented our Annual Gala at SummerStage in Central Park on June 22nd. Marking the 30th anniversary of SummerStage, the night was themed “Rewind to 1986” and featured music from the 80s performed by Debbie Harry, Dionne Warwick, Angelique Kidjo, and Colin Hay.
